Is Clowk free?
Yes. Clowk is free forever for most use cases. A PRO plan is available for teams that need advanced features.
Is Clowk open source?
No. Clowk is a managed service. You don't need to host or maintain anything.
Is Clowk self-hosted?
No. Clowk is a hosted service. Authentication flows run on auth.clowk.in.
What's the difference between Clowk and Clerk?
Clowk is a broker — it handles OAuth and returns a JWT. Clerk is a provider — it embeds UI into your app. See Clowk vs Clerk for a full comparison.
Which frameworks are supported?
Clowk has official SDKs for:

The core package (@clowk/core) works on any runtime that supports fetch.
How are passwords stored?
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt before storage. Clowk never stores plaintext passwords.
What happens if Clowk is down?
Existing JWTs remain valid — your app can verify them locally without contacting Clowk. New sign-ins would be unavailable until the service recovers.
